SPS IPC Drives 2017 Recap

Everything about our stand, the AR showcase, and our talks

Ergosign showed at the SPS IPC Drives for the fifth time. From 11.28.2017 to 11.30.2017, visitors to Europe’s leading industry fair for electronic automation were able to find out a little about UX - and test our augmented reality showcase.

Through the HoloLens, interested visitors delved into the world of the Smart Factory, experiencing the machine operation of the future in an interactive scenario.

Through the data glasses, the operator saw a multi-level production line stretching over our stand. Thanks to simulated machine learning mechanisms, the production line worked independently and could classify defective parts.

The operator using the HoloLens was brought in when new errors were discovered. The glasses offered support in classifying defective parts and restarting the machine by displaying hints and concrete instructions.

The operator was therefore able to carry out several complex repair scenarios without any explicit previous knowledge.

The intelligent combination of hardware, software, and technology in the HoloLens lets the user receive real-time feedback about the execution and success of their repairs to hardware components.

But we weren’t satisfied with just a stand and a spectacular showcase! So, we also held two talks in different forums at the SPS IPC Drives. Jan Groenefeld, Head of Business Development and Corporate Communications, spoke about “The Perfect UX in the Smart Factory” on the first day of the fair.

Whether AR or classic machine operation - at the SPS IPC Drives, we showed everything relevant to the industrial context.

We are so happy to receive positive and constructive feedback, and would like to thank all our visitors and our partners Inosoft and Digitec for this successful fair!
