The "GUI&DESIGN", a conference for UI and UX design professionals will take place in Fürth near Nürnberg in Germany. In one session we will talk about the design and development of custom controls in WPF. Lots of things can be done: from simple, strictly visual adjustments to highly complex independent components. However, before deciding to design and develop a custom control, the implications for usability and user experience have to be considered carefully. Once you are committed to develop your own component, there are a number of options how to proceed. We will discuss these options using examples.
