The field of information design has an increasing overlap with user interface design, so as a UI designer it is always good to watch out for new resources (especially in combination with the buzzword “pattern”).

Most recently - as part of the master thesis of Christian Behrens - a website went online, which deals with the taxonomy of design pattern in the field of data visualization and information design. The library consists of currently almost 50 patterns each with detailed description, layout suggestions and real world examples.

It is definitely an inspiring treat for all the Tufte fans among us. However, only time will tell how frequently the content will be expanded and updated.
